Sunrises and sunsets can be so beautiful and appealing to capture. During Covid-19 I was working for Carnival Cruises as a full time photographer. I needed some inspiration and when times got tough I looked to the sky.

It was the sunrises and sunsets that kept me going. I shot them again and again with the idea of providing inspiration during tough times. When I was 53 days at sea without touching land that is how I kept my hope of returning back.

So how do you shoot a sunset?

Think LOW on ISO

With the sun being bright you do not want grain. The best way to prevent? Keeping your ISO on low.

Wide Aperture

Think f/11 or higher. This will help with creating a maximum depth of field

Quick Shutter

You do not want to burn the photograph

Focus Manually

Getting your focus point done manually will really help you in creating the scene YOU want to create.
